Fathers Day

Jim and Sandra visited for fathers day and brought Savannah. We had Mexican food, cheesecake and ice cream. The kids had a great time playing in the pool together.

Turtles & Ice Cream!

This morning we saved two box turtles we saw while driving down the road. We got out and drove them to safety at a nearby creek.

In the afternoon I took Curtis and Emily to Toria Gales Bakery for the ice cream & cake making class. They made a cold cake made from chocolate biscotti and pudding. They also made their own ice cream using baggies. Emily's ice cream must have been lacking on the sugar because it tasted just like frozen milk. She didn't seem to mind. They had a great time.

Week of June 11th

Emily started First Friends today, a summer preschool program at First Assembly. She will go from 9a-12p and will go 2-3 days per week.

Curtis attended 4-H camp today. It was all about rockets. They turned 2 liter soda bottles in to rockets and shot them off in the parking lot at the end of class. Emily and I had a great time watching all the boys show off their hard work.

Things we have planned this week include a trip to Toria Gales Bakery for a class on making ice cream, hanging rock lake (hopefully!) and being at home. I'm sure Curtis and Emily will make good use of their pool this week.

Today I took Curtis and Emily up to Hanging Rock State Park to the lake. They had fun playing in and around the water. We stopped at Priddy's General Store and picked up sandwiches for lunch. They had a ball!

Summer has begun!

This is the first week of summer vacation for Curtis and Emily. They have been spending time in their pool out back and looking for bugs and animals in the woods and just playing and hanging out. They had a picnic (see picture) out on the front lawn yesterday afternoon.

I have signed Curtis up for a few 4-H summer adventure camps for the next two months. He will also attend summer camp field trips at Woodland Baptist Christian School this summer. Emily will be attending preschool at FACS for a couple mornings per week to keep her going so she is ready for kindergarten in August. Its hard to believe I will have a kindergartner and a middle schooler in just a few months.
