My first sewing project

I just finished my first project. I made a little cotton sack with a drawstring closure for Emily to carry stuff around in. Actually, the first thing I made was a tiny baby doll pillow on Christmas day but it doesn't count. This sack is far from perfect but it was really fun to make! I made it from one of Curtis's old t-shirts.

Christmas

We had a busy holiday. We visited family on Christmas eve and Christmas day. Curtis and Emily got a lot of neat things. I got something I've been wanting for months, a new sewing machine. I'm hoping by this time next year that I'll know how to make a few things. Emily got: pajamas, a new sweatsuit, a piranha game, Club penguin stuff, a ton of Polly Pocket dolls, a Little Me Mommy doll, a camera that hooks right in to the t.v. so she can see herself dancing on t.v., a Wowee panda bear. Curtis got: lots of money and gift cards, a new video game for his NintendoDS, a few shirts. I'm sure I missed a few things. They both have been enjoying everything they got.

Hanging out

Tiffany came over to spend the day with Emily. They decorated Christmas cookies and made a cotton ball snowman.

Science Museum

Today I dropped Curtis off for his interview with the volunteer coordinator and Emily and I decided to stay and play around the museum while he was interviewing.

Emily thought this puppet was disgusting because the hole for her hand was in it's rear end.

PE class at the Y....

Homeschool PE class at the YMCA. Today was the last day until next year (well, January). It was also the last of six weeks of basketball. Emily's class also did gymnastics today which is the reason for the bar. There are more than 3 kids in Curtis's group, about 20 families participate at this YMCA. I just didn't get them all in the pictures. These are the only pictures that didn't come out dark.

Happy 13th Birthday Curtis

We had a small, intimate get together with family at Pizza Hut. His cake had two skiiers on it and said "have a cool birthday Curtis." It turned out very good and was appropriate for the day since we had snow flurries later in the day. It would have helped if I would have remembered to take more pictures but I only picked the camera up a couple of times. Here are a few pics...
